Hospital Appointment For Beryl

Today Beryl Had an appointment with Dr. George at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn. The appointment was for 4.40pm, and pleased to say it was on time. When we arrived the nurse weighed Beryl then showed us where to go. Beryl asked if I could accompany her, which I did. Dr. George was pleased with Beryl’s heart and pulse rate, her blood pressure was normal, but he was concerned with the blood test on her thoriod,as it showed to be very irregular. He has increased her thoroxiod tablets by 50% to try to control this, and she will need further blood tests to check on how it’s performing in case her medication needs changing again. Dr. George explained that the thoriod gland is like the engine in a car, and without petrol a car will not go. The thoriod gland is under active and needs more thoroxin to make it perform properly, hence the increase in medication. Beryl has been feeling tired and lethargic and has had some loss of appetite which has been due to the the thoriod gland not performing properly. Dr.George wishes to see Beryl again in four month’s time, so we have an appoitment at the end of March 2007, hopefully everthing will be controlled by then.
