Our Final Day.

We decided that we would journey home this afternoon as we had to pick up our dogs between 10-12am on Saturday which would have meant an early start to pick them up on time, but we decided we would go to Chesterfield to see the crooked spire in the morning. It was raining really hard when we left, it was only 30 mins to get there. We arrived about 10.am, still raining , but only drizzle, parked near the crooked spire, walked through the car park to the church. Took some lovely photo’s, went in the church, said a prayer for Chris Watts, who died from MND, his ashes were being buried that morning at Mattishall, bought a plate of the church, took photo’s inside before looking round the Town. We found the Town to be quite interesting, there was a Market, both outdoor and indoor, several shops, Next, Wallis, which caught Beryl’s eye, bought some lunch to take to the cottage before leaving at 12.00.

We returned to the cottage at Ashover, had lunch, packed the cases into the car before journeying home at 1.45pm. We made good time travelling home, it took 2.45 hrs, adding 30 mins for a stop for a cuppa, we arrived home at 5.00pm. Holiday over, but we had a most enjoyable time in Derbyshire.
