A Very Sad Day- Chris Dies.

Beryl and I were very saddened to hear from Pat that Chris has died, she notified us at 6.00pm today. Chris had not been been to well over the weekend, he could not sleep, had been very restless during the day. On Monday night they both went to bed early as Chris was so exhausted, Pat woke up at 4.30am and thought that Chris must have had a better nights sleep. But sad to say he had passed away during the night. Although he was terminally ill it has still come as a shock to us all, it was hoped that at least he would have lived for another year.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Pat and her family at this time, they have had such a traumatic time coping with Chris’s illness, but he did not suffer in his final hours passing away so peacefully.

We visited Pat and her family this evening, and passed on our sincere condolances to them all. I must say we have never seen a person with Motor Neurone Disease before, it is such a terrible illness, all the muscles of your body degenerate, leaving you like a rag doll, unable to do anything for yourself. Chris bore his illness with such courage and never lost his sence of humour, was always cheerful, and made the effort to greet you when visiting and getting up to say goodbye at the door when you left.

We shall really miss him as will lots of others. May God be with him, and us all at this very sad time.
