Are Norwich Lacking Ambition?
A report in the Eastern Daily Press on Saturday July 22nd stated that Nigel Worthington was interested in signing Luton striker Steve Howard. As stated in the report ‘Worthington is keen to pair Howard with City goal machine Robert Earnshaw in a little and large combination which he believes could terrorise Championship defences.’ Wothington had an undisclosed offer rejected by Luton Manager Mike Newell insisting he will not let Howard go on the cheap. It’s obvious Norwich are not prepared to pay out the money as Howard has signed for Derby County for £1,000,000 on Saturday afternoon. With the start of the new season less than two weeks away it looks as if we will have no new players or any that do arrive will have to cost the Club under £1,000.000.
