Paramedics called to Beryl.
Early this morning I had to dial 999 and call out the Paramedics for Beryl as she was feeling very unwell. Earlier in the evening, around 7.00pm we had to ring the emergency doctor, Beryl explained to him that the Mr. George, the heart consultant at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, had written to her on Monday saying that one of the tablets she was already taking could be causing heart palputations, to cease taking this and take a new one which he was recommending. We had seen the Swaffham Doctor on Monday to obtain these new tablets, which she started taking on Tuesday. As the day went on Beryl started feeling unwell, felt sick and dizzy and had no strength or appetite. He recommended to take some Paracetamol tablets and if she did not feel any better to ring again. Needless to say they did not help, so at 12.30 am this morning I rang the Paramedics. They arrived in 15 minutes, which I thought was very good as they had to travel from Kings Lynn as the Swaffham crew was already on an emergency call at Dereham. They checked Beryl out, they were very thorough, and came to the conclusion that the new tablets were giving her side effects. They were with us for 45minutes, recommended a good nights sleep, if that was possible, then book to see the Doctor at Swaffham this morning.
Beryl saw the Doctor this morming at 11.00 am, was checked out again, very thoroughly, and given a new prescription to help combat the side effects of these new tablets, which she has to continue taking.
Tomorrow we go to the Queen Elizabeth at Kings Lynn for Beryl to have another heart scan, and hope that soon, when they have all the information, that they can help her to recover much more quickly. It’s been a very traumatic experience!
