Emergency For Beryl.

On Sunday night around 11.00pm unbeknown by me, as I was asleep, Beryl had to get up as she was feeling unwell. What she thought was indigestion turned out to be a heart problem. Berly shouted me from my sleep, at 12.45am, and asked if I would call an ambulance, which I did immediately as I could see she was very distressed. The ambulance arrived in 8 mins, which was excellent. The Paramedics checked Beryl out, said she had an irregular heartbeat and would need to go to hospital, The Queen Elizabeth at Kings Lynn. They took her at about 1.30am, I followed on by car. Once there the doctor checked her, confirmed the heart problem, and said she woul have to be admitted. They put her in the Medical Asessment Unit at 5.45 am, and once she was settled I was advised to leave and come back later. I was given a phone number for contacting them before revisiting, just to check her condition. On returning home around 7.00am I telephoned James and Jennie to let them know the situation. Advised work I would not be in today. I visited Beryl in the afternoon and evening, they were still doing tests but said she would be transferred to the Necton ward later as she would be in for a few days, this happened at 11.00pm.
On Thursday after all the tests were completed, the promlem diagnosed, and Beryl was beginning to fell better, she was dischared at 12.00pm. Loaded up with all her medication we left for home, Beryl feeling pleased the last 4 days were over.

Beryl now has to have a period of convalescence, a complete month of rest followed by 2 month’s of very light recovery. Small walks, light chores, making a cup of tea etc. Light meals , dusting, knitting, reading, watching TV. Nothing strenuous at all, not even hanging out the washing. She will need a lot of TLC to aid her recovery! I will be at home for a week to help her and will make sure she gets plent of rest. Beryl has also given up the ‘weed’ which I’m sure will help.

Will keep you informed of her recovery, she has to visit the Doctors, plus their will also be visit’s to outpatients at the Hospital.

Both Beryl and I would like to thank all who attended her in The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. They were really excellent, the care she recieved was first class!
