A Day With John & Sheila
We had invited John & Sheila over for a meal out & a mystery tour, the venue for the meal was also a surprise. John was my Area Manager when I was employed at Dewhurst Butchers as a District Manager, we have been friends for 19 years. The venue was at the Ffolkes Arms at Hillington, near Sandringham, a 300 year old former coaching inn. We had a carvery meal, roast beef or pork, plus all the trimmings. This also included a starter, sweet and tea or coffee with mints, all for £13.50 each. It was a superb meal and was really good value for money. After lunch we took them to Bircham Windmill, which they really enjoyed, before taking them back to Swaffham. Sadly John has cancer of the marrow, and was not feeling to good as he was on new medication as his cancer cell level had gone up. They therefore left for home as soon as we got to Swaffham as John was feeling very tired. We wished them goodbye until we meet up again, hopefully in July.
