A Day Out To Bury St. Edmunds.

Wednesday 5th April, we are taking Chris & Pat to Bury St. Edmunds. They arrived at our home at Swaffham at 10am we then took them to Bury to see the Market. It was a lovely sunny day & we arrived at Bury around 11am. We could see Chris wasn’t so well as the last time we saw him. He had to wear a neck collar to support his head, & found it diffucult to walk. the journey into Town from the car park was about 250 yds, and this was all Chris could manage. He sat on a bench in the Market Place while we had a look round. M&S & the Abbey. We asked at the Tourist Information Centre for a Pub that does meals, but it must have a car park. They were very helpfull & recommended the Fox Hotel. We walked back to Chris before going to the car. Chris found it harder to walk back to the car as it was slightly uphill, & had to rest before we made it. We had lunch, Scampi & Chips for 3, & a Fox Burger for myself. Pat had to feed Chris as he can no longer do this himself. We left for Swaffham at 3.00, Chris spotted some deer near Thetford Forrest, we arrived back at 4.pm. We had a drink & a chat, mainly to convince Pat & Chris to get a wheelchair, it would make it easier for them, & Chris could have been with us all the time, not left sitting on a bench. They left for home at 4.15 as the Eastern Daily Press were coming to do a feature on Tracey as she is running the Marathon. They say the publicity will bring in more money for Motor Neurone Disease.

Beryl & I enjoyed our day but we felt very emotional, as we could see that life was getting harder for them both. Pat is finding it difficult to cope at times.

REMEMBER 3 PEOPLE A DAY DIE OF MOTOR NEURONE DISEASE A DAY!
